Alpine Strawberry (Fragaria vescens)
We have chosen this easy to grow variety especially to encourage children into the garden. They could grow their very own Strawberrys,
Low growing compact plants producing an abundance of small strawberries with a sweet delicate flavour. These plants re-seed easily and do not throw out runners like other varieties.
Outdoor Planting:
For best results put your seeds in the freezer for 2-4 weeks before sowing. Sprinkle seeds onto the surface of the soil in pots of moist compost and press down. Store in a warm place at an approx. tempreture of 15-20 degrees C (60-80 degrees F). Keep the soil moist, and be careful not to over-water.
Harvest the berries as soon as they ripen.
