Runner Bean Painted Lady
(Phaseolus coccineus)
We have chosen this easy to grow variety especially to encourage children into the garden. They could grow their very own runner beans. A quick growing early variety producing short beans of excellent flavour. These plants look great in the garden with their ornamental red and white flowers.
Indoor Planting:
Sow seeds 3cm deep in pots of moist compost, be careful not to over-water. Store in an unheated greenhouse.
Growing On:
Once all chance of frost has passed and the seedlings are strong enough to handle, plant out direct into your desired location in May/June.
Outdoor Planting:
Sow Seeds 3cm deep direct into growing beds keeping 6" (15cm) apart, Water in well. Pick regularly to maintain crop and provide support.
