Turnip Purple Top White Globe (Brassica rapa)
A very popular sweet testing turnip, producing an off white root with a dark purple top. The leavescan also be used as greens.
Outdoor Planting:
Sow seeds thinly 2.5cm deep direct in growing bed in rows 12" (30cm) apart. Keep the soil moist, and be careful not to over-water. When large enough to handle thin to 6" (15cm) apart.
The best time to harvest the roots are when they are 2-3" in diameter.
Protect young seedlings from frost.
