Grow your own herbs

Everything you need to successfully produce the three organic aromatic plants essential for cooking, basil, chives and parsley.

Contents

  • 1 x Black Zinc tray
  • 3 natural zinc plant pots
  • 9 compressed dehydrated coconut earth pellets
  • 3 Bags of seed. Common Chives, Grand Vert Parsley and Flat Leaf Parsley.

Instructions

  1. Soak the coconut pellets in twice their volume of water, They swell instantly.
  2. Distribute the coconut soil in the zinc pots, reserving a small portion.
  3. Space the seeds as well as possible in the zinc pots, 1 pot per type of seed.
  4. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of the reserved soil.
  5. Keep inside the house in a well lit place. (Kitchen windowsill is ideal)
  6. Water little and often ensuring that the soil is maintained at a level that is barely moist.

The results

Basil

Basil germinates first in approx 8-10 days. Once germinated thin out the leaves to leave 2 plants approx 3cm apart. Then let gorw and enjoy.

Chives

The chives come out in thin leaves after approx 2 weeks. Leave to grow in a dense clump and enjoy.

Parsley

Parsley takes approx 20 days to come out of the ground. Thin out in the same way as the basil and enjoy.
