New Areas of Service.
On March 23rd, the entire nation was placed under lockdown, although expected, this measure created a multitude of issues.
Panic buying ensued, produce shortages became the norm and supermarket delivery services cracked under the strain.
Our business levels declined and we needed an alternative method of operation to keep our staff actively employed and at the same time help our local community.
So in conjunction with our contacts in the wholesale sector UCSFresh was formed. On the very day of lockdown we started a fresh fruit and veg delivery service to Ascot, Bracknell and the surrounding area.
Due in no small part to you guys, sharing our details, we were very soon inundated with requests to expand our delivery area. This we did as far as we could safely manage.
You asked us to supply new and varied products, which we did our utmost to source. In the main I hope you agree, that a few hiccups aside, we built a service that could be relied upon in a difficult time for everyone.
Now, some 9 weeks on, it appears that the country is starting its journey back to some semblance of normality. Supermarkets are stocked and delivering again, garden centres have reopened and most other retail outlets will soon follow. Kids are going back to school and things are looking up.
We at UCS need to follow the countries lead and look towards rebuilding our own business and to that end, we will be reducing the delivery area we cover to free up staff for their normal roles.
We will however continue to support our local community by continuing a more localised service.
Any changes will take effect from the end of next week and all deliveries up to and including Saturday May 30th will be made as normal.
All details of the changes will be made available on our website www.ucsfresh.com in the next day or so.
I would just like to thank you all for your support over the last 9 weeks and we truly hope that we have been able to help you through this incredibly difficult period to some small degree.
Stay in touch and if you find anything in short supply, please tell us, as always we will do our utmost to help.
Thank you all and stay safe.
Hi, just to say a big thank you to your company for all the deliveries of fruit and vegetables over the lockdown. All the produce has been lovely and fresh and tasted great. I ordered some plants just in time and they are growing well in the garden. Thank you all again for all your help in providing much needed supplies over this difficult time. Good Luck for the future with your business.
Kind regards,
Jacalyn Keil
